LGA latest new and announcements

The Lake Gaston Association (LGA) would like to inform our members and the broader lake community of a proposed development known as “The Villas of Lake Gaston,” planned for the Turtle Cove area in Mecklenburg and Warren Counties.  At this stage, the project is under review by the appropriate local and state authorities.

On Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 2 pm, an LGA Government Relations Committee meeting was called by me, the President, over concerns of the project and an upcoming meeting being held by the Zoning and Planning Administrator, Lucky Carson, Mecklenburg County.  I included Chris Hoover, Project Manager for the Villas development, in the meeting to give the Committee a short two-hour presentation, including questions, about the mentioned project.  Mr. Carson has called a public planning meeting, open to the public, for Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 7 pm, at the Board of Supervisors Meeting Room, located in the Goode Bank Building at 350 Washington Street, Boydton, VA.

The LGA does not take a position for or against individual development proposals.  Our role is to keep members informed, encourage respectful civic engagement, and support transparent processes that consider environmental stewardship, infrastructure, economic development, water quality, public safety, and quality of life around Lake Gaston.

We encourage interested residents to review publicly available, accurate information to minimize misconceptions, participate in local meetings, and share comments respectfully and directly with the relevant county and regulatory agencies.  The LGA will continue to monitor developments and share factual updates as they become available.

Thank you for your support,

Scooter Boham

LGA President
